This large, over-sized print divided over two stretched canvas panels is a result of a single shot image taken on a cloudy and moody November New York day.
We see a highly embellished holiday window with a richly styled mannequin that takes center stage amongst the numerous props that refer to ancient travel and exploration.
The mannequin, a symbol of timeless elegance, tells a visual tale where fashion in its surroundings communicates a peculiar narrative. Live street, sky and building reflections on the glass create a layered composition, forming a new busy reality. This single, unretouched shot encapsulates a moment where live reflections blend with the staged, creating a symphony of multi-layered effects. This print is a pure unmanipulated image of a magical universe.
My technique of multilayered effects adds depth and new context to the staged scenes that beckon viewers into a realm of curiosity and delight, bringing all along on a voyage of the imagination.
Photo taken in 2010 at Bergdorf Goodman, 5th Avenue, New York.
